This is definitely a trip of a life time for Bruce and I, it is something we always talked about, but never thought it would actually happen. We have the pleasure of exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam for 3 days before leaving for Tanzania Africa for 13 days. We will be spending 1 day in Arusha before embarking on a 12 day private safari. After weaving our way across the Serengeti we will jet off to Paris the City of Romance for 4 lovely days before heading home.

The Serengetti
Well we are in the Serengetti, what an amazing place. We flew out of Arusha at 9:00 a.m. on a little 9 seater prop plane, I cannot lie I was more than a little nervous, but it ended up the flight was great, we had to stop at one air strip to pick up a couple and before we could take off they had a jeep chase some zebras away from the airstrip. We landed at 10:30 a.m. and the animal sitings have not stopped.
Our guide is awsome. His name is Gardi. He has the best eyes ever. We saw our first animals 10 minutes into the game drive and it has been non stop. It is so unbelievable when you see the animals we see in the zoo actually living in the wild. The all just kind of mingle together.
We came around the corner and what was the first thing we see but, Pumba and a bunch of babies, they are hillareous, let me tell you warthogs are not one of the prettier animals out there but they sure make you laugh . they can run like the wind.
Next were the zebra and the wilderbeast. Let me tell you where you see one you see the other and the wilderbeast is always accompanied by flies, flies and more flies. One thing we found out is that zebra are born with tan stripes and as they get older their strips start turn to dark brown and by the time they are 3 they then have the black stripes. I think we have seen at least 50,0000 wilderbeast and zebra.
